- Hi all,
-
- I've been following Bad mood's progress over the last few weeks, and
- from what I've read (& seen), it looks cool.
-
- I have an interesting idea that might give Bad Mood an added bit of
- difference from other games available...
-
- Does anyone remember those 3-D glasses that you could use with STs, PCs,
- etc. that came out a while ago. They were called 'Sterotek' or something,
- and came with Cybercad? Anyway, what they were was a pair of glasses with
- LCD lenses. What you did was plug them into the printer port of an ST,
- which would then black out alternating sides of the glasses every VBL,
- once a TSR was loaded.
-
- What I'm thinking is adding on a small rout to the engine so that you can
- use these glasses (or others) to get a *real* 3D screen!
-
- I don't think it would be that hard a thing to do. All you need is two
- physical screens (one for each eye) which you flip each VBL, and a third
- screen to draw the Left or Right eye's screen every 3 or 4 Vbls. Once
- you draw a screen, you just swap it with the corresponding physical screen.
- The only other thing to change would be to draw the left-eye's screen
- with the player slightly offset to the left and their angle of view
- slightly rotated to the right, and the opposite for the right-eye's view.
-
- One question though. With all this talk of midi-network play, are you
- still planning to have communication compatibility with PC & MAC
- network/modem versions of doom?
-
- BTW: I would like to get more involved (somehow), but this will have to
- wait until I get my Falcon fixed. :(
